- I'm a middle-aged woman who lives in a log cabin located in the Yukon. Jack London once traveled down the river behind my cabin. He was on his way to the Klondike gold fields. Things haven't changed much since his visit in 1897. Winter temperatures can still drop to minus 45 or more. I spend a lot of time beside my trusty Blaze King wood stove to stay warm.
